It’s now official that Janet van Dyne will be featured in the Ant-Man movie as Wasp.
It was previously just speculation that Wasp may be making an appearance in Ant-Man, as Janet van Dyne and Hank Pym’s daughter is featured in the movie with Hope Van Dyne, played by Evangeline Lilly.
Now Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige confirms the appearance of Wasp.
“She factors in a number of spoiler-ish ways,” Feige told MTV. “But we will see Janet van Dyne in action in this film, and sort of what happened to her.”
Regarding what happened to Janet is presently unknown, but the cast teased it led to to Hank Pym hanging up his Ant-Man suit during the Cold War, and also leading to a rift between Hank and his daughter, Hope.
“Hope and her father don’t get along very well,” offered Evangeline Lilly. “And they haven’t for many years, for most of her life.”
It’s presently unknown who will play Janet Van Dyne and Wasp in the movie, but at one time Rashida Jones was rumored for the role.
