‘Picard’ Showrunner Wants ‘Star Trek: Legacy’

Following the series finale of Star Trek: Picard, showrunner Terry Matalas and all the fans let it be known they want Star Trek: Legacy.

While Terry Matalas has said there are no current plans to continue, Paramount and the Paramount+ streaming service would be making a big mistake not to continue and boldly follow the events of Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Episode 10, and the series finale.

A special two-part event was held at various locations throughout the United States screening the final two episodes. The cast appeared in Los Angeles along with showrunner Terry Matalas who were interviewed by local channel Fox 11.

The reporter mentions that showrunner Terry Matalas wants to keep the show going with a spinoff called Star Trek: Legacy.

“They’re at the top of their game,” said Matalas. “I want to see more.”

Gates McFadden and Brent Spiner were also asked what they think is the legacy of Star Trek.

“The legacy of Star Trek is so many different things to different people but it’s obviously about hope for the future,” said McFadden.

Spiner replied, “It tells us there will be a future. Because I think that is something we all are concerned about.”

No spoilers here, but obviously the finale of Star Trek: Picard leaves it open for a new series, so as the show is about hope, hopefully, Paramount greenlights Star Trek: Legacy. Check out the fan reactions below.
