Tom Holland Developing Spider-Man 4

Thanks to the third annual Sands International Film Festival held over the weekend, we get an update on Spider-Man 4 where it’s learned Tom Holland is helping to develop the movie.

Spider-Man 4 doesn’t have a release date as of yet but both the head of Sony and Kevin Feige have said it’s happening.

What does Tom Holland say?

Similar to his recent statements, Tom Holland tells Deadline they want to make sure they can get the movie right.

“We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect,” he said. “The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home was released in 2021 and brought in nearly $2 billion and also starred Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield from the previous Spidey films.

“This is the first time in this process that I’ve been part of the creative so early,” said Holland. “It’s just a process where I’m watching and learning. It’s just a really fun stage for me. Like I said, everyone wants it to happen. But we want to make sure we’re not overdoing the same things.”

Rumors have offered Kevin Feige is trying to decide whether or not to make the fourth Spidey movie a street-level film or make it another Multiverse movie, with it claimed Sony wants the flick out ASAP.

“We’re figuring it out,” said Holland. “We’re at that stage where it’s post-strike, so we’re waiting for those scripts to come in.

He added, “We’re giving the writers the time they need to hit the ground running.”
