Wolverine Workout? Hugh Jackman Fuels Avengers Comeback Buzz

Hugh Jackman fuels speculation he will be back as Wolverine in the MCU’s next big Avengers movies, Doomsday and Secret Wars.

On Friday, the actor posted a video of himself lifting weights. Normally when Jackman gets back to training it’s for a return as Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to Reunite with Classic X-Men Cast in Avengers: Doomsday?

If Jackman is indeed returning for Avengers: Doomsday, he will join his confirmed cast from the X-Men movies which includes Kelsey Grammer back as Beast, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and James Marsden as Cyclops. Channing Tatum is also confirmed back as Gambit from Deadpool & Wolverine, which starred Jackman.

Rumors also offer Famke Janssen will be back as Jean Grey, with Halle Berry as Storm.

The last time Hugh Jackman was featured with the X-Men cast was in 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Assuming Jackman will be back, it will also be the first time his Wolverine directly interacts with the MCU. Recently saw a spoiler drop the X-Men take on the Fantastic Four.

Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars release info

Avengers: Doomsday gets released December 18, 2026. Joe and Anthony Russo are directing. Secret Wars gets released on  December 17, 2027. Filming is currently underway in the UK.

Making up the 27-member officially announced cast includes  Chris Hemsworth, the confirmed cast includes Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Tom Hiddleston, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Danny Ramirez, Hannah John-Kamen, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Channing Tatum, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Lewis Pullman, and Robert Downey Jr. 33 more are rumored.
