Japan has done it again as Hayao Miyazaki’s Anime, The Boy and the Heron, will be topping the box office this weekend.
Following the big success of Godzilla: Minus One, The Boy and the Heron opens this weekend featuring an all-star English-dubbed cast.
Deadline offers the flick will lead all movies this weekend with an anticipated $10.7 million opening after a $5.4 million Friday including Thursday previews of $2.39 million.
Saturday update: Looking like a $12.8M opening, more than expected.
Much like Godzilla: Minus One, both the critics and fans like what they are seeing. The Boy and the Heron currently has a 95% Rotten Tomatoes Score and a 91% Audience Score. The CinemaScore is “A-.”
