Creature Commandos Episode 5 Review: Solid

Creature Commandos Episode 5 Review: Solid

Creature Commandos rebounds from last week and provides us with a solid episode, probably the best of the series to date.

Gunn continues poking fun at the right-wingers, though it’s not to in-your-face like previous episodes. The jokes are funny and there’s lots of action. The story also makes sense.

creature commandos lesbians

What Gunn tries to do at the start of the episode is bait us in and get a reaction with “Lesbians!” It’s like he wanted fans to go, “Oh, no! It’s Lesbians!” and run straight to social media about it. Of course, everything isn’t what it seems and if you haven’t been paying to the news surrounding the series and recent announcements, you were in for a pleasant surprise.

Once again Frank is portrayed as a big simp. I think with this episode it comes off pretty funny. Rick also doesn’t feel in anyway shape or form like some sort of elite soldier. Is he supposed to be? He’s a simp, too. Actually, you realize every male character in the series is a simp? Well, except for Phosphorous. Gee, I wonder why that is??? He’s actually the coolest of the monsters too, because he is a f’n monster! That middle finger scene was really cool! LOL.

And lookie here? Pokolistan actually has an army?! Where’d that come from? Recall how one of my complaints about the series was that when Circe (again, it’s pronounced SIR-SEE) and her incel simp army attacked Pokolistan, there didn’t seem to be a lot of people fighting them. I said that I expected the Creature Commandos to go in and there would be this war. Well, we got that with this episode. So where was Pokolistan’s army (they even have tanks!) when Circe was attacking the castle? Again, this goes back to the bad writing where instead of making the story make sense, Gunn inject and self-inserts his politics in order to make his point (that no one cares about) come across and teach us lessons.

creature commandos clayface

The Clayface scene was also cool. Now, he’s a monster, too! And of course a misogynist who sexually harasses students. Hey, he is a villain. The fight scene between Clayface and Frank and Rick was pretty cool, too. I guess we know Rick isn’t dead as Grillo appears in Superman. I expected a bit of a more fight out of Frank. So that’s the same Clayface that will be in the live-action DCU movie, right? Should be pretty wild.

Creature Commandos episode 5 gets an 8/10.
