Terrifier 3 is now in theaters where it could actually snag the #1 spot at the box office from DC’s Clown Prince of Crime, Joker 2.
The trades are offering Terrifier 3 could open to $11 million or higher. It’s guessed Joker 2 will massively tank this weekend, so Terrifier 3 – at 1% of the budget of Joker 2 – might be #1. That’s no laughing matter.
Friday night update: Looking like $15 million or more and that Joker 2 will fall to third place. The official Terrifier 3 Instagram account also had a little fun at the expense of DC and a video game is getting released.
Saturday update: Terrifier 3 even bigger at $17M-18M+. The CinemaScore is also a “B” which is great for a horror move (Joker 2 at a “D”). Joker 2 looks to be dropping a massive 82% from week one with only a second weekend gross of $6.7M-$7M (the first Joker did $55.8M in its second weekend).
To put things in perspective, Terrifier 3 opened with its Thursday preview at $2.6 million. Well, that alone already surpassed its budget, which is said to be $2 million. Adding in marketing and costs and such, it’s reported the total cost of the movie is around $5M, which Terrifier 3 will more than double this weekend alone.
Joker 2 cost $200 million and sure as heck didn’t make $400 million for its opening weekend. It bombed at $37.6 million.
The reviews are also good for Terrifier 3 at Rotten Tomatoes as the critics are giving it a 76% which isn’t bad for a horror flick. However, what counts is the fan score, which is at 94% from those who bought tickets. The third movie has the highest fan score of the three movies (53% for the first one, 80% for the second).

Terrifier 3 is directed by Damien Leone and stars Lauren LaVera, David Howard Thornton, and Jason Patric, with Chris Jericho returning from the second movie. Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.
