Aaron Taylor-Johnson Rumored As New James Bond: Signing Deal This Week

A big rumor out of the UK is stating that British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been offered the role of James Bond and will sign the deal this week.

The rumor comes via the UK’s The Sun which is backed up by the Daily Mail.

According to the reports, Aaron Taylor-Johnson will take over as the new OO7 from Daniel Craig. The actor is known for a plethora of roles including Kick-Ass, Godzilla, Bullet Train and stars in the upcoming The Fall Guy with Ryan Gosling and Sony Marvel’s Kraven movie.

According to The Sun, the actor has been formally offered the role of James Bond.

The site’s insiders are stating Aaron Taylor-Johnson is expected to accept the role as the new 007 and take over from Daniel Craig who has played the part for the past 15 years.

A new James Bond film is said to start filming in the UK this year.

“Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement,” says the insider.

Favorite choice among the Bond producers

It’s further said the next Bond film has been delayed due to the Hollywood strikes from last summer but a script has been worked on and that production is expected to start soon at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.

Other actors said to have been up for the role include Idris Elba, Cillian Murphy, Henry Cavill, and James Norton.

It’s also said that Aaron Taylor-Johnson secretly screen tested for the role back in 2022, and quickly became a favorite choice among the Bond producers.

According to the info, it was his performance in the  2016 thriller, Nocturnal Animals, which first put him on the radar as the potential new James Bond.

Daniel Craig finished with the role in 2021’s No Time To Die.
