Josh Brolin Rumored To Play Thanos In Guardians of the Galaxy & Avengers 2; Exclusive New Details

A new rumor has hit the net that suggests Josh Brolin is going to voice Thanos in the James Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

The info comes from Latino Review who states they have no futher details.

The good news is that Cosmic Book News does have details on how Thanos is going to be used in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Update: Hollywood trade sites are reporting Brolin has been cast, and it’s also reported Thanos will be featured in The Avengers 2, which we first told you back in 2012.

Potential spoilers follow.

We already know that Thanos has been described as the villain behind the scenes whom Ronan, played by Lee Pace, and Nebula, played by Karen Gillan, work for.

Our Guardians of the Galaxy source who first provided us with details on the reshoots and news of Stan Lee’s cameo role has also told us the following:

Thanos hires Ronan to get the Infinity Stone (perceived to be the Power Gem from the comics).

Thanos also has the Collector go after it, who in turn hires Starlord to go get it.

The Collector gets the Infinity Stone before Ronan does – and the fight is on!

Ronan actually gets it back and becomes uber-powerful by putting the Power Gem in his Universal Weapon and is going to kill Starlord and the Guardians.

Enter Thanos (I won’t spoil what happens next).
