Amazon MGM Studios brought Masters of the Universe to CinemaCon in a big way, putting the Sword of Power front and center and even handing fans their own Power Swords during the presentation.
Director Travis Knight took the stage alongside stars Nicholas Galitzine and Camila Mendes to hype the movie, and they leaned fully into the moment. Galitzine led the crowd with the classic call, “By the power of Grayskull…” and the audience answered back, “I have the power!”
The cast also joked the movie has “so many muscles” in it, which fits what was shown in the footage.
CinemaCon gives Masters of the Universe the full fan treatment
The CinemaCon presentation didn’t hold back on the fan service.
The Sword of Power was part of the on-stage setup, with one of the jokes being that it’s ancient, mystical, and apparently not easy to get through security.

Masters of the Universe footage goes big, colorful, and campy
The footage shown at CinemaCon leaned hard into the tone longtime fans probably wanted: colorful, weird, action-heavy, and unapologetically big.
It opens with He-Man under arrest, only to be forced into action when Beast Man enters the picture.
The CGI is said to look pretty solid, with Beast Man getting the upper hand until Teela jumps in and helps turn the fight around while also helping spark Adam’s memory.
From there, the footage expands the scale fast. The movie looks vibrant and full of energy, though Castle Grayskull itself is described as darker and more imposing.
Adam gives a speech where he identifies himself as Adam, Prince of Eternia, which sounds like part of the movie’s push to tie the man and the myth together.
Skeletor then shows up with a laugh and glowing red eyes, and by all accounts he looks menacing. Man-at-Arms also makes a strong impression as a key supporting character.

He-Man powers up as Skeletor closes in
The big payoff in the footage comes when Adam calls on the Power of Grayskull and transforms.
After that, the reel turns into a full-blown fantasy brawl, with colorful action, wild creature fights, and skeleton soldiers rushing for the sword.
Skeletor demands his forces take it, He-Man dares them to try, and the footage turns into a fast-moving sizzle reel of swordplay and monster combat.
One larger enemy appears to take He-Man down with an axe, and then again with a horn-led headbutt, but he keeps getting back up and fighting (h/t Brandon Davis on X).
