James Gunn’s Superman follow-up, Man of Tomorrow, starts filming next week, as confirmed by DC Studios co-head Peter Safran on Tuesday night at CinemaCon.
“Cameras roll next week on Man of Tomorrow,” Safran said at the end of the DCU presentation, which also included Supergirl footage and the Clayface trailer.
CinemaCon also featured a video message from James Gunn, David Corenswet, and Nicholas Hoult teasing the villain and what’s ahead in the movie.

James Gunn, David Corenswet, and Nicholas Hoult tease the story
The video offered a small preview of the sequel’s setup.
David Corenswet teased, “Try saving the world with your sworn enemy.”
Nicholas Hoult added, “a new villain and an unlikely alliance.”
James Gunn closed things out by saying he’s excited to finally start sharing more from the film.
Taken together, the comments point to the story where Superman and Lex Luthor are forced into some kind of uneasy team-up while facing a larger threat, known to be Brainiac.

Filming start lines up with recent reports
The filming update also aligns with previous reports that Man of Tomorrow would begin production in coordination with Superman Day this Saturday, April 18.
Recent news also says Adria Arjona has joined the cast.
The trades have reported Arjona is playing Maxima, but DC nor James Gunn have officially confirmed the role.
