The Ultimate Fighter is coming back with a new season, and UFC is bringing in two Hall of Famers to lead the way.
Daniel Cormier and Michael Bisping will coach the latest season, which premieres Sunday, June 14, exclusively on Paramount+.
The debut also lines up with UFC Freedom 250. After the premiere, new episodes will drop every Tuesday as part of the 12-episode season.
Team Cormier vs. Team Bisping
The new season is titled The Ultimate Fighter: Team Cormier vs. Team Bisping.
It will feature 16 prospects split between two divisions:
- Men’s bantamweight (135 pounds)
- Women’s strawweight (115 pounds)
The fighters will compete for a shot at making it to the UFC, with Cormier and Bisping going head-to-head as coaches.
Daniel Cormier Returns for Third Time as Coach
Daniel Cormier is no stranger to The Ultimate Fighter. The former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion is back for his third time coaching on the series.
Cormier previously coached on Season 27 and now returns looking to add another win as a coach. UFC noted his career victories over names including Stipe Miocic, Anderson Silva, and Alexander Gustafsson as part of what he brings to the season.
Cormier is also one of only four fighters in UFC history to hold two titles at the same time.
Michael Bisping Comes Back to the Show That Helped Make Him
Michael Bisping also returns for his third stint as a coach. He first made his name on The Ultimate Fighter by winning Season 3, which helped launch his UFC career.
The former middleweight champion later coached on Season 14 and now comes back looking to lead his team to another win. UFC pointed to Bisping’s victories over Anderson Silva, Luke Rockhold, and Dan Henderson as examples of the experience he brings.
Bisping remains one of the more recognizable names tied to the history of the series, so this matchup gives the season a built-in rivalry from the start.
The Show That Helped Create UFC Stars
The Ultimate Fighter has played a big role in building UFC stars over the years. The series introduced a lot of fans to the sport and helped launch the careers of fighters including:
- Kamaru Usman
- Tony Ferguson
- T.J. Dillashaw
- Rose Namajunas
- Nate Diaz
- Michael Chiesa
- Kelvin Gastelum
- Forrest Griffin
- Rashad Evans
- Uriah Hall
- Conor McGregor
That history is a big reason the show still has value, especially with UFC continuing to use it as a pipeline for new talent.
Past Seasons Also Head to Paramount+
UFC also confirmed that past seasons of The Ultimate Fighter will begin streaming on Paramount+ in late May.
That gives fans a chance to catch up before the new season begins in June.
