About the Game
Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic was officially revealed at the 2025 Game Awards as a brand-new single-player narrative-driven action RPG developed by Arcanaut Studios in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.
The game places you in the role of a Force user on a journey through a galaxy teetering on the brink of rebirth at the end of the Old Republic era, blending cinematic storytelling, memorable characters, and choice-driven gameplay.

The reveal included a first look at a teaser trailer and featured an exclusive interview with game director Casey Hudson, known for his work on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect trilogy, who emphasized crafting a contemporary vision of a definitive Star Wars experience.
In interviews accompanying the announcement, Hudson and Lucasfilm Games leadership explained that while Fate of the Old Republic is not a direct sequel to KOTOR, it honors the legacy by telling an all-new story with deep player agency and immersive world-building.

The project, still in early development, aims to combine choice-based narrative depth with heart-pounding combat, drawing on Hudson’s decades of experience and creative vision.
Players can expect to explore rich lore and original characters as more details—and a release window—are revealed in the future
