Zack Snyder has released a new black-and-white image of Amber Heard as Mera, adding even more fuel to the growing belief that he’s teasing his Knightmare storyline and setting the stage for Justice League 2 and the return of the SnyderVerse.
The photo continues the pattern Snyder has followed, where every image he’s posted seems to be tied directly into his apocalyptic Knightmare arc.
All of Snyder’s Recent Teases Point to SnyderVerse return
So far, Snyder has released Knightmare-themed shots of Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke, and Jared Leto as the Joker. Even that Jason Momoa as Aquaman image is on the darker side.

Now he’s added Amber Heard as Mera to the lineup — another character who plays a role in the Knightmare future Snyder mapped out years ago.
Each image looks like part of a coordinated set, and they’re all tied to characters who appear in Snyder’s planned Justice League-style endgame.

Future of Gunn’s DCU now in question
With Snyder now dropping these images one by one, fans are convinced he’s signaling that the SnyderVerse storyline may finally be coming full circle, which is exactly what we have been told is in play.
Our insider reports were also just confirmed by Deadline, who question Gunn’s future at DC amid his pivot to the “Superman-family” and away from the greater DCU.
