Rumor said to be false

TMZ now says the supposed feud never happened.

According to their sources, the rumor is “superhero hooey” because Downey and Reynolds haven’t even met in person. While the two know each other through Hollywood circles, they’ve never shared a set together.

The site notes that during the pandemic, the actors did appear together in a Zoom-based fantasy football league for charity. They also discussed the possibility of Downey making a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, but nothing came of it.

Reynolds Not Confirmed for Doomsday

Another key point TMZ raises is that Ryan Reynolds hasn’t even been confirmed to appear in Avengers: Doomsday.

His rumored involvement is still speculation, despite reports suggesting Deadpool may have been added to help boost interest in the movie.

While Reynolds has teased his involvement, the trades are split, as Deadline reports he’s not in Avengers: Doomsday, while THR claims he will return as Deadpool in the next Avengers films.

A recent rumor even says Deadpool won’t be a part of The Avengers, but will have his own superhero team.
