Disney has released a brand-new trailer for Tron: Ares, the latest chapter in the sci-fi franchise, set to hit theaters on October 10. The film was shot specifically for IMAX.
Ares Crosses Into the Real World
Tron: Ares centers on a highly advanced Program named Ares who is sent from the digital realm into the human world on a high-stakes mission. This marks the first contact between humanity and an artificial being from the Grid.
The trailer features an ominous tone, highlighting the emergence of Ares in our reality, with narration warning, “We’re not going there. They are coming here.” Ares is introduced as “the ultimate soldier — biblically strong, lightning fast, and supremely intelligent.”
The story follows Ares, who appears to develop a sense of consciousness and emotion, as he states, “I’m looking for something… something I do not understand,” and later, “It’s just… a feeling.”

Cast and Crew
Directed by Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), the film stars Jared Leto as Ares alongside Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, and Cameron Monaghan. Gillian Anderson and Jeff Bridges also appear.
The movie is produced by Sean Bailey, Jeffrey Silver, Justin Springer, Jared Leto, Emma Ludbrook, and Steven Lisberger, with Russell Allen serving as executive producer.
Nine Inch Nails Debuts First New Music in Five Years
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, through their band Nine Inch Nails, composed the full score for Tron: Ares. The new trailer includes the single “As Alive As You Need Me To Be,” the band’s first new release in five years. The song is now streaming and available via Interscope Records.
The full soundtrack, Tron: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), drops September 19.
