Nathan Fillion opens up about playing Green Lantern Guy Gardner in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie. Gunn has opted to do a take on Guy Gardner from the ’80s DC Comics which is on the more goofier side of things.
Fillion’s version also seems to be in stark contrast compared to the Lanterns DCU series starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre. Reportedly, Fillion’s Guy Gardner is supposed to appear, so that should make an interesting dynamic, to say the least.

‘What does Nathan Fillion say about Guy Gardner?
Speaking with TV Line, Fillion answers what sets his Guy Gardner a part from other iterations of Green Lantern. Fun fact: Fillion has played Hal Jordan in DC animated projects:
“He’s a jerk. What’s important to know is, you don’t have to be good to be a Green Lantern; you just have to be fearless. So Guy Gardner is fearless, and he is not very good. He’s not nice, which is very freeing as an actor because you just think to yourself, what is the most selfish, self-serving thing I can do in this moment? And that’s the answer. That’s what you do in that moment.”

Superman vs Green Lantern Guy Gardner
Fillion continues and possibly hints we might see Guy vs the new Man of Steel!
“I think if he has a superpower, it might be his overconfidence, in that he thinks he could take on Superman. He can’t!”
Gunn also released that promo for the Puppy Bowl. Check it out:
