Last week saw mention that the writers of the Vacation remake will be penning the script for the new Spider-Man.
Now John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein have confirmed the news.
“We can finally acknowledge that,” Daley told npr.org. “This is the first time that we can say that we are writing it.”
“We’ve been saying no comment for the last week,” Goldestein added. “We’re thrilled.”
“He’s a sharp kid and witty and kind of deals with the fact that he’s an outcast and a geek through humor,” Daley offered about Spider-Man. “It is sort of the safety net for geeks like us, so I think we can totally relate to where he’s coming from. As well as the superpowers, which we also have.”
The Spider-Man reboot is set for a July 28, 2017 release starring Tom Holland, with Kevin Feige on as producer along with Sony’s Amy Pascal. It’s speculated Spider-Man will also appear in Captain America: Civil War out next May. Marisa Tomei is in talks for Aunt May.
