[Screenwriter] Chris Terrio and I talked about it a lot and felt that their mythological presence is felt in the movie and that’s cool, but I didn’t want to get my eye too far off the ball because I needed to spend the time, frankly, with Batman and Superman to understand the conflict.
We can see the Joker’s presence is felt through the Robin costume in the Batcave, and it’s thought the Riddler’s question mark is featured in the old Wayne Mansion.
The Joker will be seen this August in the Suicide Squad movie, played by Jared Leto; Ben Affleck’s Batman is scheduled to appear in Suicide Squad as well.
Jim Carrey played Riddler in 1995’s Batman Forever, with Cory Michael Smith currently playing Edward Nygma on the Gotham TV series.
Any ideas who could play Riddler in the Justice League universe? WB once wanted Leonardo DiCaprio for the role during the Nolan Trilogy, and it was also said Justin Timberlake was circling the role for Batman vs. Superman.
