Transformers: Optimus Prime and Cybertron Movies In The Works

In addition to the recent release of the Bumblebee movie, Paramount is also developing two new Transformers films with a solo Optimus Prime flick and an animated film that explores the origins of Cybertron.

Regarding the Cybertron animated film, Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura fills in the Metro, “We actually have an animated movie in the works that will tell the whole Cybertron mythology. The fans will love that.”

The Optimus Prime movie is still being worked on.

“We’re trying to figure out an [Optimus Prime solo movie],” Lorenzo di Bonaventura says. “It will be hard with Optimus, he is always right, very stoic and is a man of few words … It is kind of like saying, ‘Lets do a movie about Obi-Wan Kenobi?’ But how much is there to say about Obi-Wan? It is not so easy.”

It’s also learned a Bumblebee sequel is possible as writer Christina Hodson, who also wrote Captain Marvel, is just waiting on the call, “We shall see. I have told them they can call me anytime. I know what I would want to do with it.”

Bumblebee is currently in theaters and has been getting rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
