MTV Bringing Shannara & Teen Wolf To 2015 NYCC

MTV TAKES OVER NEW YORK COMIC CON WITH ELVES AND WOLVES THRILLING FANS WITH

THE RETURN OF “TEEN WOLF” AND CONVENTION DEBUT OF EPIC DRAMA “THE SHANNARA CHRONICLES”

 

MTV announced that “Teen Wolf” will return to New York Comic Con with a panel featuring producers and cast on Friday, October 9 while epic Sci-Fi/Fantasy drama, “The Shannara Chronicles” will make its highly anticipated convention debut on Saturday, October 10.  Each can’t-miss panel will feature cast and producers from the shows and give fans exclusive first-looks at the upcoming seasons for each show.

The Shannara Chronicles Press Room:  1:30-2:30pm, Interview Room 4

“The Shannara Chronicles” is written and executive produced by Al Gough and Miles Millar.  Jon Favreau, Jonathan Liebesman, Terry Brooks and Dan Farah also serve as executive producers. The first two episodes were directed by Jonathan Liebesman (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”).  MTV is producing with Sonar Entertainment.

“Teen Wolf” was developed by Jeff Davis (creator, “Criminal Minds”) who also serves as executive producer.  Additional executive producers include Russell Mulcahy (“Highlander,” “Resident Evil: Extinction”), Joe Genier, Marty Adelstein (“Prison Break”), René Echevarria (“Medium,” “Castle”), Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley.  The pilot was written by Jeff Davis and Jeph Loeb & Matthew Weisman and directed by Russell Mulcahy.  The “Teen Wolf” series is based on a Screenplay by Jeph Loeb & Matthew Weisman. The series is a co-production with, and distributed by, MGM, in association with Lost Marbles Productions, Inc., Siesta Productions, Inc., First Cause, Inc. and DiGa.

Synopsis:

Coming to MTV in January 2016, ‘The Shannara Chronicles’ is a new TV series based on the best-selling fantasy novels by Terry Brooks. Set thousands of years after the destruction of our civilization, the story follows an Elven Princess, Amberle, a half-human half-elf, Wil, and a human, Eretria, as they embark on a quest to stop a Demon army from destroying the Four Lands.

‘The Shannara Chronicles’ stars Poppy Drayton, Austin Butler, Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett and John Rhys-Davies. The series is executive produced by Jon Favreau, Al Gough, Miles Millar, Dan Farah and author Terry Brooks.

MTV has released a trailer for their new Shannara series for Comic-Con.

The series is based on the Terry Brooks novels of the same name and premiers on MTV January 2016.

MTV has released the Season 5 trailer for Teen Wolf.

The new season premieres June 29th at 10/9c and June 30th at 9/8c.

Teen Wolf follows the story of Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), a teenager who is bitten by a werewolf and becomes one himself. Now he must figure out how to balance the challenging curse along with all the normal struggles of high school. With the help of his friends, Scott learns how to protect the ones he loves, become a stronger werewolf, and tackle life one day at a time. 

The series also stars Dylan O’Brien and Holland Roden.

The Avengers 2 Cast Appearing At MTV Movie Awards With New Clip

The cast of The Avengers 2 will be appearing at the MTV Movie Awards.

MTV announced that Robert Downey Jr. will be the recipient of the Generations Award, and that fellow Avengers 2 cast members Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner will be with him.

In addition, a new 90-second Avengers 2 clip will be debuting at the MTV Movie Awards.

“Throughout his career, Robert Downey Jr. has mesmerized audiences by capturing the humanity in larger-than-life characters like Charlie Chaplin, Sherlock Holmes and Tony Stark,” said Stephen Friedman, President of MTV, in a statement. “He’s a brilliant actor and a Hollywood icon, and we are proud to recognize his tremendous passion and talent with this year’s Generation Award.” 

The MTV Movie Awards take place Sunday, April 12th at 8/7c hosted by Amy Schumer.

“The Avengers: Age Of Ultron” hits May 1, 2015 directed by Joss Whedon starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L.
