Star Wars: The Last Jedi Estimated Box Office At $200 Million

This should come as no surprise, but the box office opening weekend for Star Wars: The Last Jedi is being estimated to be one with The Force.

In what will be the first full appearance and return of Mark Hamill to Star Wars in almost 35 years, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is pegged to open to a whopping $200 million domestic opening.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opened to $247 million, so Star Wars: The Last Jedi is on a similar path; The Force Awakens went on to make over $2 billion at the box office.

If the number holds true Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be the second highest-opening of all-time behind Force Awakens as well.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opened to $155 million; however, that was Disney’s first Star Wars movie outside the trilogy films.

In Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past

The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. J.J. Abrams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin are the executive producers.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in U.S. theaters on December 15, 2017.
