It’s learned the Star Wars series, The Acolyte, is at the top of the garbage pile of shows on the Disney+ streaming service.
New data reveals that the Star Wars franchise on Disney+ underperformed last year along, of course, with Marvel.
The news shouldn’t be a surprise. As we’ve gone over countless times, Disney+ automatically has the Nielsen ratings turned on in your accounts. The Star Wars and Marvel shows all have been in the gutter in terms of ratings and viewership.
Now more of the same is said from Luminate ratings, which is owned by Eldridge Industries, as well as Penske Media Corp. who own a monopoly of shill sites like Deadline, THR, Variety, etc. So when the shill sites say it’s bad — you know it’s bad.
What does the data reveal?
So Deadline reports on its own viewership ratings system, that Luminate notes both Star Wars and Marvel “all underperformed last year.” In another no surprise, it’s also learned Amazon Prime Video’s Rings of Power lost another massive amount of viewership following viewers bailing throughout the first season. The Marvel shows that bombed include Echo and Agatha, which via Nielsen we know are the two least-watched and lowest-rated Marvel shows on Disney+:
Luminate also notes that streaming franchises — including Marvel, Star Wars and Rings of Power — all underperformed last year. The second season of Prime Video’s Lord of the Rings series was down 60% in total minutes watched compared to Season 1, and Disney+ didn’t fare much better with offerings like Echo and Agatha All Along, which underperformed previous Marvel streaming series.
The Acolyte coming in second is something to celebrate?
Regarding The Acolyte, it’s actually pretty funny. I’ve seen social media posts and Reddit posts from desperate fans who desperately try to validate their fandom offering The Acolyte had good ratings because of the following, again via Deadline:
But, juxtapose that with the fact that those big IP franchises were still the best performing series on Disney+, and the solution becomes unclear. Percy Jackson and the Olympians was top dog on Disney+ last year with over 3B minutes viewed, and The Acolyte came in second place with 2.7B.
Yeah, sure The Acolyte comes in at second place, but what does it mean when you’re at the top of the garbage pile? I’ll explain: it means you’re still garbage.
To the shills: Let me know when they announce The Acolyte Season 2. Ditto for Agatha. Where’s She-Hulk? Where’s Ms. Marvel?
