Production on Star Trek: Discovery is officially underway as a new promo has been released which offers a behind-the-scenes look and more.
Star Trek: Discovery will debut with its pilot episode on CBS before being available in its entirety on the CBS All Access digital network.
The series is set about ten years prior to the original Star Trek TV series and a hundred years after Earth first made contact with the Klingons (as seen in the Star Trek: Contact pilot).
Starring in Star Trek: Discovery includes: Sonequa Martin-Green as the Lieutenant Commander Rainsford, Doug Jones as Lt. Saru, Anthony Rapp as Lt. Stamets, and Michelle Yeoh plays the Captain of another Starfleet ship, Captain Georgiou. James Frain will play Salek, father of Mister Spock, with the Klingon cast featuring Mary Chieffo, Shazad Latif and Chris Obi.
