Fifty years ago saw Star Trek boldly go where no man has gone before.
Today is the 50th anniversary of Star Trek as September 8, 1966 marked the first time Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek aired on TV with the episode “The Man Trap.”
The Star Trek Facebook page celebrated by posting images and video. Star Trek fans can also change their profile pic to feature a Star Trek frame.
Up next for Star Trek is the Star Trek: Discovery series which will premiere on CBS in January followed by airing on the channel’s digital network.
