Matthew McConaughey is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood, and it’s learned the Oscar-award winning actor was up for roles to play Doctor Strange and a role in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (assumed to be Ego The Living Planet, being played by Kurt Russell).
Matthew McConaughey fills in Playboy.com revealing why he passed on James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2:
I likeĀ Guardians of the Galaxy,Ā but what I saw was āItās successful, and now weāve got room to make a colorful part for another big-name actor.ā Iād feel like an amendment.Ā
Matthew McConaughey does happen to be starring in the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s Dark Tower along with Idris Elba:Ā
The Dark TowerĀ script was well written, I like the director and his take on it, and I can be the creator, the author of the Man in Blackāa.k.a. the Devilāin my version of this Stephen King novel. Weāve done the first one. Itās a fantastic thriller that takes place in another realm, an alternate universe, but itās very much grounded. For instance, the gunslingerās weapon isnāt a lightsaber or something; itās a pistol. I enjoyed approaching my character as if I were the Devil having a good time, getting turned on by exposing human hypocrisies wherever he finds them.Ā
“The Dark Tower” has a July 28, 2017 release directed by Nikolaj Arcel also starring Katheryn Winnick, Abbey Lee and Jackie Earle Haley.
