Karl Urban Would Love To Do Dredd TV Series

Back in May saw it announced that Dredd: Mega City One is being developed as a TV series from Rebellion, the company that publishes the 2000AD comics, and from IM Global studio, with the series described as “big-budget.”

As Karl Urban played Dredd in the cult-smash movie of the same name many fans are hoping Urban returns to the role.

The good news is that Karl Urban has confirmed he is in talks for the Dredd TV series, as Karl Urban appeared at a Star Trek convention in Las Vegas and offered:

I am in discussions with them about that. I told them that if they write the material and give Dredd something to do and give him a function, I will be there. I would love to.

Trek Movie also offers that Karl Urban says talks are still underway for Star Trek 4:

The ball is in Paramount’s court. There is a new head of Paramount Studios [Jim Gianopulos] – a great guy – and they are just in the process of looking at their slate at what is coming up. So fingers crossed we get to make another one.

The Karl Urban Dredd movie premiered in 2012 and only grossed $35 million worldwide, which is why there never was a sequel, but the flick quickly became a fan-favorite with the home release of the movie.
