IMAX has released the official Justice League #2 trailer on their YouTube channel with word that the movie will be released in 2D:

The YouTube description states:

The IMAX release of Justice League will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX 2D Experience.

However, the link provided to the IMAX website states 3D:

The IMAX release of Justice League will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of An IMAX 3D Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

It’s possible it could be a simple mix-up by whoever posted the trailer, or maybe not.

Update: IMAX has changed both the listings on their YouTube channel and website to read:

Original article follows:

Just last month saw IMAX state that they would be moving away from IMAX 3D releases as ticket buyers would rather watch an IMAX 2D movie, such as with Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk.

IMAX was reportedly disappointed with recent earnings, citing 3D as the reason, and 3D sales were down last year by 8%.

We’ll try to clear up the matter and contact IMAX.
