James Gunn has shared the first image connected to Man of Tomorrow, posting a new behind-the-scenes photo on social media with the caption, “Rehearsal. #Superman.”

The image features David Corenswet back in costume as Superman, seated inside his apartment while chaos unfolds outside the window. Across from him sits Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, while Corenswet is focused on reading a piece of paper with a facial expression that looks equal parts concerned, puzzled, and completely locked in on whatever message he’s holding.

Image echoes the first Superman reveal
The new image immediately calls back to the first official Superman photo James Gunn released featuring Corenswet in costume.
That earlier image also showed Corenswet in a quieter moment rather than a big action pose, with destruction happening in the background. This new shot feels like a clear companion piece, using the same idea of Superman remaining unusually calm while something massive is going down outside.

David Corenswet’s facial expression stands out
What really sells the image is Corenswet’s face. He is not looking out the window at the threat in the sky. He is staring down at what he is reading with a serious, slightly confused expression, like he is trying to process something important while the city is under attack.
It gives the shot some personality. Instead of panic or over-the-top heroics, Gunn is once again teasing a Superman who seems grounded, focused, and almost unfazed by the scale of what is happening around him.
Chaos outside, calm inside
Outside the window, the skyline is lit up by what appears to be a glowing threat hanging in the sky, along with swirling pink and green energy stretching across the clouds. Inside the room, Corenswet remains seated with his cape draped over the chair while Lois is across from him.
That contrast seems deliberate. The world outside may be falling apart, but Superman is still calm enough to sit there and read through whatever note or paper he has in his hands.
Release date and cast
