Jack Black and his band, Tenacious D, are coming under fire for Trump assassination comments made while playing a show in Sydney, Australia on Sunday.

Less than 24 hours following the assassination attempt on former President Trump that left him wounded, a firefighter killed, and two more injured, Jack Black’s longtime bandmate, Kyle Gass, was celebrating his birthday on stage at the concert.

In the video, watch below, Jack Black can be seen singing happy birthday, and tells Kyle Gass to “make a wish.”

As Glass blows out the candles of a birthday cake, Kyle Gass says, “Don’t miss Trump next time.”

As the Sydney, Australia crowd laughs, Jack Black can then be heard stating, “Thank you.”

Update: A follower of mine on X was at the concert:

Jack Black has yet to publicly respond, and the trades report representatives for Kyle Gass have not responded as of yet to requests for comments.

However, that hasn’t stopped fans from replying to Jack Black, the Kyla Glass, and the Tenacious D social media accounts. See below.

Update: Jack Black has issued a statement on social media: “I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form. After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”

Kyle Glass has also turned off his Instagram account and it is confirmed the 64-year old musician has been dropped by his talent agency, Greene Talent.
