It’s reported Idris Elba is in early talks to play the villain in Star Trek 3.
Variety reports the news with speculation the Klingons could be the main villains of the movie, but it’s noted the Klingon info is unconfirmed.
Idris Elba is known for playing Heimdall for the Marvel movies and for roles in Pacific Rim, Luthor and The Wire.
Star Trek 3 has a July 8, 2016 release directed By Justin Lin, with Simon Pegg writing the script. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana and Anton Yelchin are all said to be on board to return.
Elba will be featured in this May’s Avengers 2.
