Germany Movie Theaters Boycotting Avengers 2

[page_title]

The Avengers will not be reassembling to battle Ultron in hundreds of German movie theaters.

It’s reported that up to 600 smaller movie theaters in Germany will not be showing The Avengers: Age Of Ultron to protest against Disney’s pricing policy.

According the the German website Faz.net (translate via Bing), movie theater owners are upset that Disney takes 53% of each ticket price.

The theater owners argue there has always been an unwritten rule that the pricing is flexible for the smaller theaters, but now that isn’t the case, so the owners just won’t show the movie.

Disney already nabs the 53% in the big city theaters.

It’s noted movie theaters across Germany recently upgraded their theaters and screens, with it mentioned it will take longer for the small movie theaters to recoup the costs.

The Avengers scored close to $31 million in Germany back in 2012.

“The Avengers: Age Of Ultron” hits May 1, 2015 directed by Joss Whedon starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, Paul Bettany as Vision, with James Spader as Ultron.
