Frank Grillo Teases Return Of Crossbones To The MCU

It sounds like Frank Grill and Crossbones are returning to the MCU!

Last seen exploding during Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it was thought both Frank Grillo and Crossbones were done for! Turns out that is apparently not the case.

In an interview with Forbes while discussing horror movies and The Purge franchise, Frank Grillo drops the following tidbit with mention that Marvel has further plans for his character, which of course is Crossbones.

It’s great to be part of Marvel too, and I have three boys who are fanatical about Marvel, and I was surprised not too long ago because there is some news that nobody knows yet, to do with my character, that’s going to be really interesting and I’m excited about that.

Crossbones seemingly died in Captain America: Civil War when he was fighting Captain America and was about to detonate a bomb, but Scarlet Witch used her powers and contained the explosion in a force field and sent it up into a building.

We can guess that either Crossbones survives the explosion or that something else happens. Could Crossbones return in The Avengers: Infinity War or The Avengers 4? The Infinity Stones are going to play into the movies, so perhaps something brings back Crossbones to life? Or maybe even time travel is involved as Doctor Strange wields the Infinity Stone that controls time?

Any guesses?
