Violent Night was the Christmas movie released back in 2022, which when it first opened, made over half its budget. The flick only cost $20 million to make and brought in nearly four times its budget with a $76 million gross. It’s probably safe to say it also has become somewhat of a cult favorite and saw success on streaming.

Violent Night is directed by Tommy Wirkola and written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller. Per the title, the flick is a violent take on Christmas. When an elite team of mercenaries breaks into a family house on Christmas Eve, a disgruntled Santa Claus (Harbour) must take action and takes them out to save both the hostages and the Holiday.

Violent Night 2 doesn’t have a release date as of yet. Wirkola is returning to direct, and Casey and Miller are writing the sequel with filming expected to start next year. Wirkola previously told The Wrap:

There’s stuff we left on the floor like the North Pole, Mrs. Claus, the elves. But story-wise I think we have a really, really cool idea that expands on the world and scope, but still keeping that tone that we love from the first one.
