A new rumor has hit the net regarding Jason Todd in the DC Cinematic Universe.

The latest has it that the star of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Taron Egerton, is being eyed for the role of Jason Todd in the Batman Vs. Superman and Justice League movie universe.

In the comics, Jason Todd also happens to be Nightwing as well as the Red Hood.

An earlier batch of rumors suggested the Ben Affleck solo Batman movie may feature the Red Hood in an adaptation of the DC Comics Batman storylines "A Death in the Family" and "Under The Hood."

"Jason Todd has returned from the grave as the Red Hood, working in the shadows to make people think he's Batman, while making Batman look like a criminal," the previous rumor stated in part.

The current Taron Egerton Jason Todd rumor comes from The Daily Planet DCEU Rumors Twitter feed, which also states other actors may be up for the role, but that Taron Egerton is the current favorite to play the role.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch and Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves. Justice League is to follow directed by Zack Snyder as well.

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
