Stephen Amell Comments On Brandon Routh In Arrow

Former Superman Brandon Routh was just announced to be playing Ray Palmer, aka the Atom, for Season 3 of Arrow.

Now, Stephen Amell, who plays the titular character and Oliver Queen, has taken to his popular Facebook page to offer five words:

Our world just got bigger.

Brandon Routh played the Man of Steel in the 2006 Superman Returns, which was a continuation of the Christopher Reeve Superman universe.

The movie received mix reviews, though many fans did like Routh’s portrayal; the problem seemed to lie in the writing and directing, which Bryan Singer has taken credit for.

Warner Bros. has since rebooted their Superman universe with Henry Cavill and Zack Snyder.

Last Summer’s Man of Steel, starring Cavill, grossed $668 million.

Routh’s Superman Returns netted a total of $391 million worldwide.
