We get an update on the DC Black Lightning TV series that Fox picked up back in September.

In Deadline's report that an X-Men TV series is coming to Fox, it's further reported that DC/WB's Black Lightning is another of Fox' big super hero commitments, which sounds like Black Lighting will be getting green lit soon as well.

It was previously reported the Black Lightning TV series is from Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl producer Greg Berlanti and The Game's Salim and Mara Brock Akil.

Black Lightning marks the first broadcast series starring an African-American superhero.

Black Lighting was created back in 1977 by Tony Isabella and Trevor Von Eeden. The character's powers, in the comics, include the ability to generate and magnify electro-magnetic phenomena and generate force fields.
