It’s now projected that Batman Vs. Superman will have a $170 million opener, which is $10 million more than a couple of days ago.
The weekend numbers for BVS are also set to give WB their biggest opening ever, even better than Harry Potter or any of the Christopher Nolan Batman movies. The movie is doing exceptionally well internationally, coming in at #1 as well in various foreign markets.
Regarding the negative Batman Vs. Superman reviews, Deadline is stating WB thinks it’s because of a – more or less – bandwagon effect that saw a batch of negative reviews released early on, which caused a domino effect with other critics following suit.
Currently, Batman Vs. Superman has a 30% rating amongst critics at Rotten Tomatoes, while fans have had a more positive experience with 73% liking it.
It’s also suggested that as a result of the critic and fan response, that WB and Snyder may change the Justice League movie up at bit as a “near universal complaint” for Batman Vs. Superman is that it’s “too long, too brooding, too hackneyed.”
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has a March 25, 2016 release directed by Zack Snyder starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch and Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves.
