CinemaCon 2023: The Flash, Transformers, Disney, More

CinemaCon 2023: The Flash, Transformers, Disney, More

The CinemaCon 2023 schedule has been released which includes Warner Bros. showing up in a big way with The Flash and movie studios participating including Disney, Sony, Paramount, Universal, and Lionsgate.

The biggest draw seems to be the premiere of The Flash ahead of its June 16 release date as comparisons are already being made to Top Gun: Maverick premiering at last year’s CinemaCon which went on to become a billion-dollar movie at the box office.

It’s unknown if any of the other DC projects will be promoted as upcoming includes Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and James Gunn and Peter Safran recently announced their new DCU slate which includes Superman: Legacy. James Gunn is currently promoting Guardians of the Galaxy 3 for Marvel on a worldwide tour, so it’s doubtful Gunn will be showing up in Las Vegas for the convention, but it could be possible Gunn appears in a video message. It’s also possible footage from Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom may be shown.

It has also been announced that Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav will be on stage in a rare appearance and will be kicking off the WB presentation.

Disney is bringing their 20th Century Studios horror-thriller to CinemaCon with The Boogeyman, which adapts the Stephen King story. Disney could also very well be bringing Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy 3 which opens in May, has The Marvels opening later this year, Lucasfilm’s Indiana Jones 5 which opens in June, and recently at Star Wars Celebration saw new announcements so look for more from Star Wars at CinemaCon.

Paramount is also having an outdoor party for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and has a panel the next morning.

Lionsgate is bringing Joy Ride, and while Universal hasn’t announced what it is bringing, Universal and Illumination recently have huge success with Super Mario which will likely hit the magic billion-dollar mark at the box office, so new Nintendo announcements could be possible. Universal also has Fast X upcoming, so Vin Diesel could appear at CinemaCon, and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Kung Fu Panda 4, Despicable Me 4 could also be possibilities.

WARNER BROS. PICTURES INVITES YOU TO A SPECIAL ADVANCE SCREENING OF “THE FLASH”

4:45 PM – 7:15 PM LOCATION: The Colosseum—Casino Level

(Doors open at 4:15pm)

Warner Bros. Pictures presents “The Flash,” directed by Andy Muschietti (the “IT” films, “Mama”). Ezra Miller reprises their role as Barry Allen in the DC Super Hero’s first-ever standalone feature film.

Worlds collide in “The Flash” when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?

“The Flash” is produced by Barbara Muschietti and Michael Disco. The screenplay is by Christina Hodson, with a screen story by John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein and Joby Harold, based on characters from DC. Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Double Dream/a Disco Factory production of an Andy Muschietti film, “The Flash.” It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures and is set to open in theaters in North America on June 16 and internationally beginning 14 June 2023.
