The third Star Trek film, speculated to be titled Star Trek Beyond, recently started filming a few days ago, and now it’s learned plans for the fourth film of the Abrams franchise are in development.
THR reports Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto have beamed aboard Star Trek 4.
The report mentions Chris Pine has received a hefty raise from a mere $600,000 for the 2009 Star Trek movie to $1.5 million for Star Trek Into Darkness to a hefty $6 million for Star Trek 3.
Specifics for Quinto aren’t mentioned, but it’s stated a condition of the raises for Pine and Quinto was that they signed for a fourth Star Trek movie as Paramount wants to keep keep one of “Hollywood’s most iconic pairings,” Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock, intact.
Star Trek 3 is currently filming in Vancouver and has a July 8, 2016 release directed by Justin Lin.
