Following the rest of the world, now Black Panther has opened in China, and it’s just as big at the box office.
Black Panther opened in China today to an estimated $22.7 million, which gives it either the third or fourth best opening for an MCU title, trailing Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and depending on the final numbers, either beating or just following Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Black Panther looks to open in the $60-70 million range in China, which should push the movie over the magic billion dollar number, making it the sixth MCU movie to do so.
Black Panther currently has a U.S gross of $520,879,601, with an international haul of $419,500,000, for a current worldwide box office gross of $940,379,601.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige also confirmed they are developing Black Panther 2.
Chadwick Boseman, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira and Winston Duke return for The Avengers: Infinity War on April 27.
