Netflix has released the Wednesday trailer which offers a look at the new Addams Family series starring Jenna Ortega in the titular role.
The details for the series include that Wednesday is expelled from her “normal” human high school over an incident involving piranhas, and she is sent away to Nevermore Academy, a school for unique students. What she discovers there is a tantalizing, bloody murder mystery — and maybe, just maybe, a few friends as odd as she is.
Catherine Zeta-Jones stars as Morticia, Luis Guzmán plays Gomez, Isaac Ordonez plays Puggsley, with Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones, The Sandman) as school administrator Larissa Weems, Christina Ricci (who played Wednesday in the ’90s Addams Family films) plays the role of Nevermore dorm mom Marilyn Thornhill, and the trailer introduces Emma Myers as Wednesday’s opposites-attract roommate.
The description for the trailer teases, “Watch the official teaser for WEDNESDAY, an upcoming Netflix series from the imagination of Tim Burton. WEDNESDAY — starring Jenna Ortega in the title role, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci and more — is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Snap snap.”
Wednesday is coming soon and debuts this Fall.
