With the lawsuit by Frank Darabont, creator Robert Kirkman and the other producers of the series against AMC, I’m wondering how much longer The Walking Dead will air? And I’m also wondering if it is negatively impacting the show?
The Walking Dead Season 8 debuted three weeks ago to dismal ratings, and the trend continues with Sunday’s latest episode.
The Walking Dead “Monsters” scored a 3.8 rating with 8.52 million viewers dropping in, a decline of around 400,000 viewers from the previous episode, which is around a 27% drop from the start of the season.
The 8.52 million is a series low, not including the first two seasons when The Walking Dead was building its audience and saw a hefty rise in ratings and viewership.
That said, the numbers still give The Walking Dead the top cable TV show besting NFL, College Football, and WWE wrestling.
Here are some recent numbers:
- 8×01: 11.44 million viewers / 5.0 rating
- 8×02: 8.92 million viewers / 4.0 rating
- 8×03: 8.52 million viewers / 3.8 rating
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9pm EST on AMC. Watch previews below for the next episode.
