It’s learned the Aquaman movie will be in part set after the Justice League movie.
Producer Charles Roven filled in Cinema Blend the following while promoting this week’s release of Wonder Woman.
Aquaman will make reference [to Justice League]. There will be some reference of something that preceded Aquaman that will be in Aquaman. I believe that is the intention.
James [Wan] definitely knows where he’s going with [Aquaman], and that movie takes place in a world where Justice League happened, and Man of Steel happened, and Wonder Woman obviously takes place before Man of Steel — except for the bookends we have.
It is known Aquaman will at least feature a flashback scene as it’s also known Otis Dhanji has been cast as a young Arthur Curry (Aquaman).
Justice League hits this November.
Aquaman has a December 21, 2018 release directed by James Wan also starring Jason Momoa as the titular character, Amber Head as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm the Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Aquaman’s father, Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman is playing the mother to Aquaman, Queen Atlanna, and Dolph Ludgren is King Nereus.
An icon for over 70 years, Aquaman is the King of the Seven Seas. This reluctant ruler of Atlantis, caught between a surface world constantly ravaging the sea and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt, is committed to protecting the entire globe.
