Monday saw an IMAX preview for Doctor Strange in which IGN caught up with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige who spoke about The Avengers: Infinity War.
Fans of the Jim Starlin Infinity Gauntlet comic book will recall that the Avengers and Earth’s heroes took a last stand against Thanos after he destroyed half the universe. Feige says we will get something similar in the movie.
“We will be intercutting a lot of stories in that movie in a lot of different locales, as it sort of is in the Avengers movies as well; who is facing off against who. In this movie, it’s going to be fun to mix that up. One of the things that’s great about the Infinity Gauntlet is everybody tried to go up against Thanos whether they were god-like powers or not, because that’s what Avengers do,” Feige said.
It has been rumored that 67 Marvel characters will be featured in Avengers: Infinity War. Feige didn’t offer specifics, but hinted at a lot.
“The fun about those two movies that we’re doing essentially at the same time is everybody’s there,” Feige said.
Regarding “everybody’s there,” IGN then questioned Feige if that meant the Marvel TV characters (Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Punisher, Ghost Rider, Agents Of Shield).
“Spoilers!” Feige replied.
The Avengers: Infinity War has a May 4, 2018 release directed by Joe and Anthony Russo.
