You can scratch off J.K. Simmons reprising as J. Jonah Jameson for the Spider-Man reboot as the actor has been cast as Commissioner Gordon in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which starts filming in two days.
Now outgoing Gordon, Gary Oldman, has some advice for Simmons.
“The thing you’ve just got to get used to with Gordon is he’s a really sound detective, first of all,” Oldman told Yahoo. “And he’s really incorruptible, which is a kind of wonderful quality to play and sort of, like, true blue.
“He’s like a Watson, oddly,” Oldman continued. “He’s sort of like Watson to Sherlock, is Gordon to Batman.”
Upon hearing the news that J.K. Simmons landed the role, Oldman offered: “God bless him. That’s what I say, yeah.”
Justice League starts filming April 11th for its November 17, 2017 release directed by Zack Snyder also starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
