Doctor Strange Rumored For Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Is Doctor Strange the tie that binds the Marvel Cosmic Cinematic Universe?

Following the Doctor Strange movie, which saw Stephen Strange and Benedict Cumberbatch go cosmic by taking the fight to Dormammu, Doctor Strange will be appearing in Thor: Ragnarok, another heavy cosmic movie which will mostly be set in space.

Now it’s rumored that Doctor Strange will be appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

While James Gunn has been pretty adamant that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will not feature any of the Avengers, technically Doctor Strange isn’t a member of the Avengers, so the rumor could be possible. The rumor comes from a podcast which also offers that a Doctor Strange Guardians of the Galaxy 2 post-credit scene could be possible.

Regarding how Doctor Strange would fit within Guardians of the Galaxy 2, it’s difficult to say as the Guardians of the Galaxy movies are more standalone, but somehow they do need to tie into the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War (as it did just become known a big Thanos and Guardians scene is filming). A Doctor Strange post-credit scene in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 sounds more likely, which can have nothing to do with the main movie, but be an added bonus for Infinity War, or maybe it even may mean the Guardians will be appearing in Thor: Ragnarok

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has a May 5, 2017 release starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn. New cast members include Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell.

Synopsis:

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.
