The Dark Knight Rises (2012): 6 Minute Prologue To Debut On 70mm Imax Only

picWe reported that a 6 minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises would be attached to the IMAX December 16th premier of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Now, AMC Theaters has confirmed that the prologue will debut only at the higher resolution 70mm IMAX screens and not at digital IMAX locations.

AMC has not confirmed the locations as of yet, but how many locations are we talking about?

If the LFExaminer list is correct, only around 100 or so theaters nationwide are 70mm capable, as most IMAX theaters are just Digital capable.

We’ll be sure to update when the locations become available.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra’s al Ghul.
