Joker 2 Box Office Crumbles: Loses #1 Spot

Let’s give a big round of applause to Todd Phillips and David Zaslav for Joker 2 which has absolutely crumbled and lost the #1 spot at the box office in less than a week.

The sequel to the billion dollar movie that cost four times more is also the biggest comic book movie bust of all time when the gross is factored in, opening even less than Marvel’s blunder, The Marvels.

If you can believe it, Joker 2 also opened less than Sony’s Morbius. Hey! It’s Jokin‘ time!

Well, the jokes on David Zaslav who forked over a massive $200 million to Todd Phillips who, reportedly, didn’t want any advice and didn’t want to save the studio any money by filming outside of Los Angeles.

It’s all smiles for Phillips and Phoenix who both received a massive payday of $20 million each. Along with Lady Gaga who received a hefty $12 million, they’re all laughing last.

While we’re joking around, the big joke is that as of Wednesday, Joker 2 dropped out of the top spot at the box office.

Wednesday saw The Wild Robot animated movie take home $1,281,615, which came out two weeks ago, while Joker 2 fell to the #2 spot at $1,280,894 after only six days.

For this upcoming weekend, the clown will take the #1 spot at the box office, but it might be Terrifier 3.

Estimates offer Joker 2 will fall off the face of the Earth in its week two, while Terrifier 3 could laugh its way to the bank and past Todd Phillips, Phoenix and Gaga with a $11M+ opening.

More laughs? The budget of Terrifier 3 is reported to be $2 million. Welcome to Clown World.

Update: Terrifier 3 is estimated to open to $18M or more. Joker 2 has dropped to #3 and continues to trailer The Wild Robot.
