Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ Trailer Leaks Online

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey trailer has leaked online, which is said to be now playing in theaters.

The trailer features Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal, with a look at Matt Damon as the titular character.

“Darkness. Zeus’ law smashed to pieces. A kingdom without a king since my master died. He knew it was an unwinnable war. And then, somehow, somehow he won it,” teases the voice over.

“I know nothing of Odysseus. Not since Troy,” says Bernthal’s character.

“I have to find out what happened to my father,” says Holland who plays Telemachus, the son of Damon’s Odysseus. ‘When did you last see him?”

Berthal says he hasn’t since him since the Trojan war and questions the crowd in the room, “Who has a story about Odysseus? You? You have a story? Some say he’s rich. Some say he’s poor. Some say he perished. Some say he’s imprisoned. What say you?”

Holland: “Imprisoned?”

Bernthal: “What kind of prison could hold a man like that?”

Damon is then shown as Odysseus floating in the ocean on driftwood.

What is The Odyssey about?

No official synopsis yet, but Nolan is adapting from Homer’s The Odyssey, which follows Odysseus’ ten-year struggle to return home after the Trojan War. The story involves encounters with mythological creatures, sorceresses, and gods, and the trailer hints at all of it.
